‘Made With’ by John Grant

photo (1)

John Grant is one of my heroes. He is a brilliant brand strategist, ideas generator and in the words of my boss Naresh, he’s a “one man think tank”. He is truly inspiring.

When I did my masters, John’s book The New Marketing Manifesto was on my required reading list at London School of Economics. Through various work projects at SI Camp I got the chance to meet John and work with him. And for the past six years our paths have always crossed. The past year in particular I’ve had the privilege of working with him at Pentagram where he helps out with various clients.

10 Years With Lee

We made this video at Pentagram to showcase some of the work that the partners do. This one features William Russell, an architect who is a very inspiring, very talented man. My eyes well up every time I watch this.

Best.Signs.Ever.

It’s amazing how well trained our brains are at processing design cues and language on signs. These playful, positive signs were designed by Click Design Consultants for the National Trust. And they are ace.

Introducing Marta Larsson, Jewellery Designer Extraordinaire

photo (2)

There are some people you meet who are so incredibly passionate about what they do and their enthusiasm is contagious. Marta Larsson is one of these people. A self-made jewellery designer, Marta’s pieces are all made by hand, no two being the same. All of her pieces feature raw unpolished stones, her favourite medium to work with.

A Softer World

downpour

A couple of years ago, my friend Lorena introduced me to the website ‘a softer world’. Since then it’s the first thing I check in my RSS feed everyday.

Emily Horne takes the photos and works on the design of the comics and Joey Comeau writes the copy. Beautiful stuff. Here are a couple of my favourites.

The Printed Pages

photo-6

I came into work today to find the very first issue of It’s Nice That’s Printed Pages on my desk (thanks Rob!).

In a time where most publications are moving away from print in favour of electronic versions, It’s Nice That have moved in the other direction – and what a great move.

23 Posters

Marina Willer

In the count down to Earth Hour, Do The Green Thing (quite possibly the most brilliant environment charity of all-time) is releasing a new poster everyday. Falling in line with Do The Green Thing’s mission of creativity vs. climate change, they’ve rallied together world class creatives and asked them to contribute a poster to the campaign. So here’s a small sampling. Do check out: Do The Green Thing Tumblr to see the full lineup and to buy a limited edition print.

30 Reasons

30 reasons is a month long email poster campaign that aims to encourage people to vote for Obama. This is one of my favourite amongst the lot, although there are *so* many great ones. Well done 30 reasons for helping re-elect President Obama. What a relief that is.
