I work at Nice and Serious. As a studio of 17 in London and 3 in New York, we have 6 women. 3 are in project management roles, 2 creatives and one in senior management. Whilst we are above industry average, we know there’s so much more to do. There’s also so much more we need to understand about the issue. Why aren’t we getting more job applications from women? How can we attract women to both us as an agency and the industry as a whole?
Ok, so this new ad for SickKids is full on. But it’s also a nice break of convention. Heart-breaking stories, photos of people suffering, stats about all the injustices in this world – whilst are very important to share – end up getting lost in a sea of other really great, worthy causes because people are fatigued by the same types of stories.
This month Do The Green Thing in collaboration with WWF UK and Pentagram have launched 29 Posters for a Planet, a collection of inspiring posters made by world class creatives in support of Earth Hour. Earth Hour is the world’s largest mass participation event, where people switch their lights off between 8:30-9:30pm on March 29th to show their commitment to the planet.
This year’s contributor list is impressive. Supporters include Roald Dahl childrens’ book illustrator Sir Quentin Blake, Obama’s 2012 Design Director Josh Higgins, fashion designer Paul Smith, Google Labs Creative Director Tom Uglow and many more.
