Occupying thousands of square feet in Hong Kong’s Soho area is PMQ a new creative cultural hub. PMQ used to be the site of the police married quarters, a space where junior police officers from the mainland would house their families. In the early 2000s, long after the premise had been vacated from its original function, the space faced an uncertain fate.

Spotted in Pacific Coffee this morning: a corner shelf full of preloved books. The books are part of a city–wide sharing initiative, known also a ‘book floating‘.
Two days into my Hong Kong experience I kept receiving messages from people in the form of voice memos sent over WhatsApp. My first reaction was that this was an incredibly lazy way of texting. And now it’s pretty much all I do. It’s efficient, quick and kind of like a better way of leaving a voicemail. One that doesn’t ask you to dial into a system and push buttons to hear the message.
This is my grandma. At 84 years young, she spends her days running a little restaurant in Kwun Tong called TH Vegetarian.
